Flourish
Our mission is to create a supportive community where all people can flourish
Mental Health America of the Palm Beaches

“Flourishing is important because it promotes the growth, development, and holistic well-being of individuals and populations. It serves as a moral basis for what it means to be a human being.”
Human flourishing is a state in which all aspects of a person’s life are good. (VanderWeele, PNAS, 2017)

A flourishing person is living a good, fulfilling life, a life with a sense of purpose. They have the ability to do what they want to do and be who they want to be.
They have good mental health, physical health, and social health in all areas of their lives. This includes family, work, education, and community.
MHA fulfills this mission through its peer-led programs. Individuals who have lived experience with a mental health condition and progressed from illness to recovery are called “peers.” Peer support helps people become and stay engaged in the recovery process through shared understanding, respect, and mutual empowerment.
MHA’s program leadership and staff are all Certified Recovery Peer Specialists (CRPS). MHA is a training and testing site for the CRPS credential, and our programs exclusively utilize the peer support model.
